How to hide your WiFi & change its name?

I have a Google Nexus 5 and I use it and connect to WiFi hotspots while I am out and about. I also see other networks like "Jack's internet" etc. Mine will show up on others as 'Google Nexus 5'. But my question is how to make it invisible on my Nexus 5 phone so it will not show up on other ppl's mobiles and computers?

Also how do I change the name from 'Google Nexus 5' to like '123Google' or whatever I want?

Does anyone know how to do this and if you do can you please walk me through the steps. Many thanks.
Its not that I'm worried about others using it as of course I know that if I'm also using Wifi then no one can steal it, it's only a problem if I'm using 3G. But that is not what I am after. I just want mine to show up on other people's phones. If you know how to do just that then please share.
Oh Gosh you are right! If I am connecting to a Wifi network then people can't see that I/my phone is using that wifi network. They can only see devices that are giving off their own wifi network..Am I right?

If you are using your phone wifi to connect, nobody can use it as a connection. Think about it.
