Is there a free internet service I can use to make calls from Australia to a UK mobile for free?
Btw I don't want to give out my credit card number or phone details

If you and the person who have the mobile in the UK have smart phones. You can download Skype and use that. Just go to http://www.skype.com and follow the instructions to download and how to run it.

Skype does not connect to mobiles for free.

Skype only connects to other Skype loaded devices for free.

You could email the UK friend and ask them to load skype on their mobile and to call you via Skype.
