can i make a facebook application using drupal ?

am planning on making an FB app which isn't a game , its much simpler and am sure it can be done using php, and i was woundering if i could make it on drupal to save time , because i dont have any real experience with programming using php.
if so what should i know before starting my project , and how can i do it.
