Did I make the right choice to ignore him like this?

So there is this guy that likes me and his group of friends knows it too. They mess with me alot posting on facebook like how i rejected people. Yesterday they took a little to far and asked me to marry him. Am i right in unfriending him and ignoring him at school? I mean its getting really annoying and I sorta hate him right now. They're really immature.
I forgot to add that the "will you marry me thinige" was a joke by his pals and he himself didn't know that they posted it.

Well if you do feel uncomfortable and annoyed you should tell them! Well I think it kinda hurted him if you ignored him. How old are you? If your 18 or below your way too young to get married. Do you like him? I don't think you do right? Tell him that he's taking it too far. But I don't think you should be ignoring him you should talk to him
