For Time Warner Cable internet users, one question?

For Time Warner Cable internet users, one question?
I currently have the 20Mbps Internet alone (no bundle) and I want to upgrade to ultimate (50 Mbps). Does TWC use Fiber Optic cable(which they should IMO) to provide the speed or will the coaxial cable that I currently have be used instead? I asked because I live in an apartment and I can't have them drill more holes to pass a new cable or I might get in problems with my landlord.

So my question again is, will TWC drill another hole to pass the Fiber Optic cable or will they use the hole that was used to passed the coaxial cable through?

The fiber optic cable is usually only brought to the building, and Time Warner Cable has already replaced most of their old cable with fiber optic cable. The coax you currently have in the building will be used to deliver the higher speed via a new modem, or depending on the modem gateway you currently have, it will be reprogrammed from the office to deliver the higher speed....just like your cable box is reprogrammed from the office to deliver more programming when you subscribe to it. If you require a new modem/gateway for the higher speed, they usually send it overnight, along with a prepaid box and label to return the old one, or you can pick it up at a special location they have set up for you to receive your new and drop off your old cable equipment.....they have them in most major cities. If any new wiring is required, they will arrange to replace the old wiring through the same "holes" that are currently being used by your wiring. They simply pull the old wire out and "fish" the new cable in through the same openings. But, unless there is some faulty coax coming to your apartment, they will use the same one that is already in the building. The increased speed will be achieved with the modem/gateway programming, and the fiber optic wiring outside of the building.
