Two snowcats tow a housing unit to a new location at McMurdo Base, Antarctica, as shown in Figure 4-46. The sum of the forces FA and FB exerted on the unit by the horizontal cables is parallel to the line L, and FA = 3300 N. Determine FB and the magnitude of FA + FB.

FA=3300 N
FA component parallel to L = 3300 Cos 50 = 2121 N
FB = 2121/ cos 30 = 2449 N
FA + FB = 3300 + 2449 = 5749 N
