Facebook terms of use - photos?
I finally broke down and created an account with Facebook (mostly because my friends wouldn't stop pestering me about it). I like to share my photography with them, and honestly Facebook is the easiest way to do this... however... I'm a little scared about Facebook's terms of use applying to photos posted on the site:

"For content that is covered by intellectual property rights, like photos and videos ("IP content"), you specifically give us the following permission, subject to your privacy and application settings: you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any IP content that you post on or in connection with Facebook ("IP License")."

I take my photography seriously. Is this something I should worry about?

Thanks in advance. =)

Set your privacy settings on your photo albums to only friends. If you say everyone can see it then Facebook can use it.

"subject to your privacy and application settings"

If you allow 3rd parties or to access your info in your privacy and application settings, your info can be used to collect data. There is a setting under "privacy settings" where you tell Facebook not to share your info with 3rd parties, or ads. To be safe, you can set your photos so that only your network, friends, and friends-of-friends can see certain photos.

If you're really nervous, just don't post your photos on Facebook... post them as links to Flickr or to your own personal website. They can't own ANY of it for sure if you never upload it to their site.

Hope that helps!

go to settings
go to privacy settings
click on news feeds & wall
go to Facebook ADDS select NO

Unless you want to be a part of their adds. Like the IQ thing or singles. Several of my contacts thought it was creepy.
This is the only way your images stay only on your facebook page and can only be seen by your contacts
