Is it bad I put my daughter drivers license on fb?
My daughter just got her license so we took a pic of it and put it on fb, but we blurred out her license id number and home address. My friend messaged me saying i shouldnt have done that because it still has her birthdate on it and someone can steal/share the identity. I don't see why a DOB would be a secret though since its already on her facebook? Am I wrong?
@King Soloman So you are basically saying get rid of all social networks then.. And what is so private about a birthdate?? It's required for a Facebook account and it's placed on the profile anyway. And btw I am the daughter and I gave her the picture to put on facebook so... umm no. And pretty harsh huh? You think being a jerk will get you best answer? WRONG

With her name and birthdate the rest can be found. The less data you provide on FB and other media the less chance of ID theft. The thieves glean a bit here and a bit there and soon they have all they need.

No you are not fine . Please use common sense and stop putting pictures, birth dates, and other revealing ID stuff on the internet . Has no one ever told you we live in a World among thieves ? I'm also proud that I have have a Driver's license , or a Marriage license , or a Passport but why risk advertising it on the World Wide Web ? A license is a step forward into Adulthood . Putting it on the net is a huge step back ! Are you aware that Big Firms are now using Facebook to monitor possible hiring situations ? They ask for Facebook as a requirement to hire , then when they see that your Daughter was so free to put private stuff on the net , they won't consider her for a job with them because she may share private company information and secrets with the World. Why risk your daughter's future ?
