Why wont my phone send texts?

I have the Samsung Galaxy S2 the holder is Virgin Mobile USA and its a week old. Heres the story. I was just chilling texting my friends then i went to send them a message it said the message couldnts send and to try again and i did. It didnt send. I turned off the phone, reset it, and took out the battery multiple times and it still wont send texts. It gets on the internet, Facebook, Instagram, it calls but wont send texts. Can someone help ASAP?
P.S. Dont even say call customer service. They are my last resort. Thanks
