I'd like to start a blog. Need some tips! Please and thanks!?
I wanna start a blog. Basically, I'm an aspiring photographer and want a platform to share my photos. I already have a Facebook page, but the reach is pretty bleak. So, I have a couple of doubts.

Firstly, which blogging website do you suggest for photographs?

Also, I like writing (poetry, reviews, thoughts etc.) And I wanna know if I should have a separate blog for that, or can I just merge my photography and writing work together. Obviously, I'll post more photos than write ups, so yeah.

Also, the reason I say I don't prefer my Facebook page is because most of my likes are from people in my friends list. Also, many of them just like my photos because they are my friends. Sure, there are a lot of unknown people who visit and like my page, but they really don't give a lot of feedback to my posts.

Also, I don't have money to spend on a website (as of now), so please give me alternatives which involve no money. I'm just doing this to kill some time during my holidays and showcase my work at the same time.

So far, I was thinking of making a blog on Tumblr. What do you guys think? Also, I thought about using Flickr, but you can't post write ups there.

Please and thanks for your time and help Smile

If you want a blog on a free hosted service, I recommend the following:
- WordPress.com
- Blogger

To blog or not to blog, that is the question.
I'd suggest you try a free alternative to get a feel for what you're doing. That way, you can make sure you want to put the time into it that's required.
Wordpress.com is a great free option.

If you're going to stick to one topic per blog (i.e. keep thoughts, poetry, reviews, photos separate) then Tumblr or Wordpress are the way to go (IMO).

If you want one place to write on lots of different topics you could either use Google+ (I know they call it a social network, but it's actually a great place to write), or an open blogging platform like Howwwl.

Incidentally, all of the above are free.
