What does the online free game market look like right now?

I have the opportunity to purchase an online game website. So far, the numbers seem to work out. The website is currently producing very well based off six advertisement positions. I have a few concerns. I'm hoping someone out there knows a little bit about this market. I'm worried about traffic (haven't seen those numbers yet, just the finances), content because I don't know any flash game developers, but mostly I'm worried about the market. I do not know how competitive this is. I grew up on addictinggames.com so that is the only other site I really know. Please help if you have answers to any of these questions.

Its difficult to say without looking at the site I bought alot of sites built from templates and open source
I gave up buying those and bought a sight from phpfox.com its expensive but well worth it.
