What is one good thing about using technology that makes the Internet/World better?

It adds to my knowledge. If there is no internet then I would not be here answering at Yahoo answers and enrich my knowledge base.Internet is a boon. But should not be indiscriminately.Every technology has its Flip side and Flop side. Yahoo Community Guidelines is doing a Yeoman's job in deleting questions that are offensive or unintelligent. tons of bad thing very few good thing .Living social life in cyber world is the worst idea but best usage is to use it to gather knowledge about interest or hobby or anything which don't involved unnecessary ranting about personal life

The terms 'Good' or 'Bad' are relative and even ethics are ambiguously relative.

But at a general human perception level, I can give reasons why Technology catalyzes the time decrement in accomplishing an individual's necessity where 'necessity' can be ethical or non ethical. And I am pretty sure that you know the answer to this question because you are a Technical staff of Yahoo Answers team and you know why you had opted for this job.

1. (a) It has made one virtually omnipresent. You can know what was the temperature of surface of mars a few minutes earlier simultaneously with who was the last Formula One Champion. It has virtually minimized geographical distances and boundaries. No civilization can ever develop without a proper set of informative network. Even our body has millions of neural network.

(b) It has accelerated business, commerce, education, treatment, entertainment, job availability (ironically), awareness and national integration. People say 'Knowledge is power', thus it has made humans more conscious than there ancestors.

© It helps to prevent our culture and rituals from vanishing. People can pass their folk rituals to other cultures, hence making them alive forever.


If used judiciously, internet can be the ultimate alternative to philanthropic advancement.

Being always available for others, forsaking the time factor as well as the needing proximity in helping each another is the only good thing i see about and wish to be evolved in using technology that makes the Internet/World better.

I am not sure that it does make the world better.

Sure, Skype is nice, and it's nice to see the people you're talking to half a world away....but how many people are actually using the internet to Catfish and scam people, and steal pictures off other people's web pages and pretend to be them?

They invent this great invention, and the first people to flood the internet, where child pornographers and X rated sites.

Facebook allows married people to "just chat" with their old flames, and find new flames, and how many divorces have occured because of inappropiate on-line relationships?

I go to dinner with friends these days, and everyone is sitting at the table fiddling with their gadgets.

Often texting the person sitting across the table from them,

I went to a fireworks display last summer....and instead of looking AT the fireworks....EVERY last person in the crowd.....was holding up some camera, or I-Pad , or cell phone, and trying to TAPE the show, instead of just WATCHING it, and enjoying it.....LIVE!

Kids don't play outside anymore.....they're inside plastered to some screen or device.

People who never gardened in their lives........suddenly spend hours playing Farmville and doing fake farm chores.

This is all an IMPROVEMENT????????

It saves time and energy when trying to find out information one may not be able to find out normally due to location and resources!

Here are the good things about it:
1. You can communicate with your friends, whether new or old ones, your cousins, and family, if you're away from them. Let's take Facebook for example, without Facebook, I won't have contacted my friends whom I haven't seen them like 7 years. If it wasn't for Facebook, until now I wouldn't know how would they look like, and plus, I won't be able to talk to them. Also, on Facebook, I can talk to them through camera, or messaging, where I don't have to call them on the phone and spend money by using cards for contacting friends that spend a lot of money.

2. Listening to songs. I mean, there were the days were we didn't even have internet, and what happened is, we couldn't listen to any song. After internet came, we started listening to any song that we wanted too. Also, we didn't only listen to songs, we also started watching movies that we wanted, we watched Football (Soccer) matches, and many other things.

3. Without Internet, we wouldn't know much about world. Like we will not know what is happening in the world, and through internet, we also knew many things about life, like history, science, and other things. Also, we can't study without internet, where if you Google anything you want, and you will get what you were looking for.

There are many good things about internet that make the world better, because through internet we learn many things about life and the world, we can watch movies, listen to songs, watch any sport that we like, find people whom you haven't seen in a while or you can't talk to them in real life, and many other great things.
