Whats the point of internet connection sharing?
Whats the point of "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection" when i can already connect other computers to the same internet connection even when internet connection sharing is unchecked?

You check that only if you are networking other computers _through_ your computer.

If you can already connect other computers on your network to the internet then you must already have a router. you would use internet connection sharing (ICS) software like the one in windows only if your computers are networked through a network hub and 1 pc has access or if you networked the pcs directly (no hub or router) using their ethernet ports..
