Snapchat: I can no longer see one of my friends' best friends...what does this mean?

Earlier today, I could see one of my friends' best friends list (of which I was #1). However I just checked back on his list and saw that he has "no best friends." I doubt he can go from 3 best friends to none in a matter of hours. Could this mean that he deleted me on Snapchat (which is possible considering our acquaintance in real life)? Or would I not be able to see his name at all if he deleted me?

It is probably he has changed his settings and made his contacts private.
