No call or letter from my boyfriend in bct?
Hello all you BCT vets,

My boyfriend went to Ft. Jackson last month for BCT. He called me the first Saturday he was there for like 6 minutes, and then I haven't heard from him since. I haven't received a letter or a phone call. I got his address off of the facebook page for his battalion (i know i know) and started sending him letters this week. Is it normal to not hear from someone for this long? He's not the type to break up like that. I just wonder if he's just so busy there's no time. I know that phone time isn't guaranteed, I just thought since he's on white phase he might have the privilege back. Oh and by the way it looks like he tried to text me something today, but whatever it was it didn't turn out so all it says is the time. I just miss him so much, and the silence is driving me crazy. Should I keep writing, I was thinking of putting some small envelopes, paper, and stamps in the letter I'm sending tomorrow? What do you guys think?

When trainees first arrive (like, 6 minutes into it), they get to make one phone call to their next of kin to tell them they made it. It will be about a month before he is able to earn the privilege to make another phone call. He will be allowed maybe 15 minutes once a week, if he's lucky, and he will have to split that between you and anyone else he wants to call.

He's probably out doing "PT" with the female recruits

Good luck, young person

Yes, he's really that busy. Keep sending him cards and letters as often as you can.

Don't perfume the letter (not sure if you would) or do anything that other guys may make fun of him for. He'll get flak big time for that. I think the Navy provides stationary and stamps and such so I don't know if you really need to send him any. You can totally keep writing letters though. He'll be very busy but don't take the silence as lack of love or anything.

I hope he has time to write to you though! : )

Keep sending letters. He probably really likes to get them. As of sending letters..they give us time here and there to send them. I know our company got lucky and had lots of time to do stuff but you never get time to do anything. 4th platoon in my company were made to do PT in "free time." and then at 9 is lights out and if a DS comes in, you can't get anything done. And our male bay was always in trouble and never got time to do ANYTHING. I wouldn't be tooooo worried.. but don't be surprised if it doesn't turn out the best honey.

It's horrible that I say this, but my husband and I met at basic training. He was dating a girl..but it was a bit different. She never wrote him.. so he strayed off. So.. don't stop writing. Just don't worry to much though. But.. also know this. People become desperate in basic training. You get no affection.. I know a engaged guy who faked his fiancés break up and slept with girls in the laundry room.. convinced everyone he was gay (I knew he wasn't because he kissed my friend and he told me that if anyone asked me about it, to tell them that I thought he was gay.. because I saw them kiss.) and then he was walking around with his fiancé on family day. So..
I don't want to make you upset.. but don't be unfaithful to him.. Just wait and see what happens. You never know what could be happening. I only got 3 calls at basic. 1 was my first call that everyone gets to tell someone you got there safe. a 10 minute call in white phase and a 5 minute one in blue phase. Anything could be happening. Don't expect the best or the worse.
