No internet connection on Ethernet cable after installed Connectify?
I have problem on my wired internet connection,
after i installed connectify into my PC, my IP address for the Ethernet adapter became 169.254.2.31 and unable to connect to internet.

Any help?

Thank you.
EDIT: I have found a solution, just go to the ethernet adapter there untick the connectify plugin then the LAN will up again. Seem like connectify doesn't work with my adapter.

I think it's because the application has made your IP address invalid. usually a reboot will fix it but sometimes you have to manually renew your ip address or click the "repair this connection" button in wondows. you can either get to it with the help under the start menu or go to control panel > hardware> network or internet connection, and then select your connection (LAN in this case) and you probably right click and select properties or it should be somewhere in that menu. depending on your windows version it is still basically what i told you. if you go to your network connection menu you may be able to "repair" it from there.

another solution is contact the connectify customer service and they will troubleshoot from there. also you may need to attempt to reset your internet connection by either disconnecting the modem or router from the power adaptor and then reconnect it or possibley resetting the modem or router, but if you have set up users or password they will have to be reconfigured. I would conact connectify first because you probably have your connection settings wrong

If you are using windows 7:

1. Go to start. Type "cmd" to the search field and click "Command Prompt". A black window should open where you can type.

2. Type "ipconfig<space>release" and hit enter. When it's done, it should allow you to type again. After that type, "ipconfig<space>renew".

3. It might give you an error message, but regardless, you should restart your system to this order:

Turn off: pc > modem > unplug modem from the electricity. Then wait for about 5 mins.

Turn on: plug electricity > modem > pc

4. Check your IP again. If it's still starts with 169, you will need to contact your internet provider.
