Be sure that ranking also shows up on other computers, some are mislead by Google personalized search bias from search history.

You got realistic [exact match] search volume estimates?

moving up 2 positions gives approx. double the clicks.

Got backlinks list for the better ranked competitors to help identify your backlinking goals.

May be that which keywords you are targeting that search volume is not good. Peoples are not searching those keywords in search Engine. So I would like to suggest you that select those keywords which searches is good and competition also.

Make sure that the keywords you use are not just high traffic ones and first page ones but also have relatively low competition. The keyword tool should let you know this. If the keywords have higher competition rate then understand that the same keywords are being used by your competitors as well with many of them working with SEO companies that can do submissions and optimization etc for those keywords way faster and a lot more than you. Always do some research on your competitors when picking out keywords.

You really need a solid SEO plan. Other than long tail keywords, try adding backlinks and social media pages to drive more traffic.
