Why are atheists so arrogant and mean-spirited?
There is a group at my college called that Secular Student Alliance, and there was one day called "blasphemy day" where they wrote on the sidewalks in chalk different things that mock Christianity, much of which was extremely hurtful. Another time, I peaked into their Facebook page, and they were talking about going to the national day of prayer and showing up in Wizard costumes and were going to hold up stupid signs saying things like "National Day Of Spell casting" and the leader suggested that they have a "prayer competition." I just feel like they are not open minded towards others, and that really saddens me that atheism is just a bunch of ignoramuses claiming that everyone else is wrong.

That group may be mean-spirited and arrogant but you shouldn't let this low kind of radical group speak for all atheists. After all, don't you hate it when a radical mean-spirited, arrogant Christian or Chrstian group makes atheists think that all Christians think and believe like this?

Pray for their salvation instead.

Oh, I know, atheists should humbly lie down and let the superior believers walk all over them. How dare they express their own opinions?

Face it, that's quite mild compared to the way believers have treated atheists throughout history.

Fifty years ago they would have been stoned for such things. They like to celebrate their freedom from oppression just like everyone else.

I'm not sure why you would be upset at any of the activities you described. What does another person's disbelief matter to you? I'd say you're obviously a little defensive and behaving a little butt-hurt, and if your faith is incapable of being sustained in an environment of secular disbelief, perhaps you'd prefer to move to a theocracy, where belief is mandated, and disbelief is severely punished, eh?

Have fun. I understand Iran is very nice this time of year.

Sadly because of the attitudes and behaviour of the BAD Christians!

Anti atheism is doing so much damage to Christianity that it is in reality anti Christianity – David Manley

It takes in reality only one to make a quarrel. It is useless for the sheep to pass resolutions in favour of vegetarianism, while the wolf remains of a different opinion. - William Ralph Inge.

Why so blind to what causes the backlash against Christianity?

ALL the other religions and atheists live in peace and are ONLY attacked by BAD Christians which causes all GOOD Christians to despair at the damage they do!

The self destruction of Christianity is underway and the only thing that can stop it is to abandon the terrible human emotions, seek to rediscover the idea of a loving god and act like it!
