Question for a cop or someone who knows one..? About a police uniform?

I know a guy that has one, Im sure its the real thing, not a costume, had the pants too.. I didn't put those on, just the shirt, it's a county uniform from around.. how could he have gotten this? Some things have happened that have made me think twice about this guy, and I was telling my mom about it & looking at his FB, which has a few pics of him in it, you can see the shirt at least..and I mentioned it to my her, nd she was pretty sure that there's no way to get that type uniform unless you were a cop, or it was given to you by one? You can't just pick em up anywhere? Which makes sense and this dude has no connection to an officer as far as I know... except for being an in a courtroom.

Does anyone know? Its spotless, definitely not a costume, is there any other way someone can get one of these? And yes, of course, Ill ask him, but it has to be at the right time... I just never thoughtanything of it it when he showed it to me, it was real nice, heavy/thick like a soldiers uniform, spotless.. and Ive seen that county's cops before and that is what they wear.. suspicious

There are catalogues and sites online where anyone may order various police force uniforms as well as military surplus stores where one may purchase a uniform, etc.! HOWEVER, it is against the law to impersonate a police officer or military personnel. As to badges, very ornate badges may be purchased but NOT for a specific force. However, they certainly look real unless very closely studied! This guy sounds a bit like a nut case and I too would be very suspicious!
