I am now thinking is this a safe way to pay as i have never paid this way before and i am worried have i done the right thing can someone help me please.
The owner sent me her bank details so i phoned my bank to arrange payment i did not use any card just the details emailed to me Ads |

Perfectly safe done by businesses all of the time. There is no way they can get hold of your bank details, the sum just goes into their bank account.

From your description, you did not pay by Bankers Draft, but simply made a direct bank transfer to his account. That is perfectly safe. A Bankers Draft however is a cheque guaranteed by the bank and will be paid to whoever presents it at a bank - it is therefore not particularly safe as if lost there is no recompense.
