ebay bidding?
Looking at trucks for sale on ebay and some have a "Buy it Now" price then there is a bid price which is much much lower. If someone wont sell their vehicle until reserve is met why not just leave a set price on it and not let there be a bidding option which will inevitably be lots lower?

It's a big risk either way. Depending on the demand for trucks, you can actually get more than the "Buy it now" prices during bidding.

Buy it Now is not a reserve. it is a price they would be willing to readily let it go for if someone wants to buy it right away and not wait for the auction to end. If they are willing to wait they can bid and hope to get it for less than the buy it now.
