How to add extra postage cost on a purchase on eBay?
I've sold something on eBay and I agreed to sent it at an extra cost. How do I add it? Thanks

If you are doing exactly what you say then there is something you really ought to be aware of

In a normal ebay sale the postage costs are included in the sale
This means that the sale contract is the goods+postage.
This in turn means the seller is responsible for goods until they arrive at the buyer (cos postage is part of the contract)
If they get lost, or the buyer claims they didnt receive them, then its the sellers problem not the buyers

However you say you have agreed to send at extra cost.
This implies you have sold the item and are happy to arrange to post them on the buyers behalf
THIS means that postage is NOT part of the contract
This in turn means that as soon as you post them they belong to the buyer.
If they get lost then its the buyers problem not the sellers

BUT
If you dont want to be responsible for the goods after they are sent its very important you ask the buyer how they want it sent. (i.e. post of fedex or dhl or whoever, and whether insurance is required or not)
I.e you would be acting on the buyers instructions
(cos this means the method of postage was 100% the buyers decision and nothing to do with you)

(it would also be a good idea to make it clear that once you have given their carrier the goods they become the responsibility of the buyer and are nothing to do with you any more)

you then go along and ask the company required the cost of sending the item (+insurance?) and report it back to the buyer (its important the order is tracked so that there will be a tracking number)
you then arrange the postage under the buyers name (so they can claim if anything goes wrong) and they transfer the cost directly to you via paypal (nothing to do with the sale of the item) - sending them the tracking number on receipt. (and maybe a copy of any details from the carrier (keep a copy of this in case it gets lost in the post))

Course whether you do all of this really depends on the value of the goods and how much hassle you want.

You go to your Sold items summary at the right under Actions>More Actions drop down menu, Send Invoice. Send a revised invoice with the postage on it.
