Google Chrome keeps crashing?
So, last night I got on my computer just like every other day. I click on Google Chrome to open it, and it opens. Strangely, however, it won't load a web page. It just sits there saying "Waiting for cache..." for a very long time. Thinking it's my internet that's having the issue, I just test Firefox to see if it is. However, Firefox opens just fine. I think that's strange, but whatever... I figured I'd just shut down my comp and by tomorrow, it'd be fine. Well, it's still not working, and if I leave Chrome open for a while, trying to load, I get errors saying that it has encountered and error and closes. The exact words it uses are "Whoa! Google Chrome has crashed. Restart now?"

Even if I don't open a Google Chrome window, for some reason there's an exe that constantly pulls itself back up, and it's Google Chrome. So, I'll still get this error even if Chrome isn't up and running.

I think this is a virus I've gotten somehow. I'm running an AVG Free scan right now to see if it picks anything up, but most of the time it doesn't. Could someone help me? Thanks.
Oh, and I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but to no avail.
This is also slowing down my computer, it seems. I'm having strange things happen here and there, too.
@Thomas Field - This has nothing to do with Flash...

clean registry, system and browser junk with reginout

also try to fix flash in the following way:

* Try to uninstall the current flash player version. (Read this official guide to uninstall flash plugin: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

* Use official uninstaller tool to remove all flash elements from your computer.

* After completing the above task download flash player 9 instead of the latest version. However, latest version is preferred. for latest version visit this link: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Sometimes there are intricate browser flash conflicts and changing the versions is often helpful.

* if you are having problems while installing flash then read this stuff:
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html

* Update your sound drivers if possible since the videos may simply crash or freeze because of the corrupted or missing drivers.

1) Open Device Manager

2) Find the sound-card device

3) Remember the name of the device

4) Uninstall it.

5) After doing this restart your system and update the drivers if they are not automatically updated.

1. Reset Chrome by default (remove Chrome preferences and all extensions):

go to
(Vista or Win7 )
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\
Local\Google\Chrome\User Data
- delete User Data folder (Chrome should be closed)

(WinXp )
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data
- delete User Data folder (Chrome should be closed)

2. Install Click&Clean extension for Chrome:
automatically clear private data when Chrome closes, Reset Chrome Local State (CountryID, install date, DNS cache, launch count etc.), clear cookies and empty cache, remove Flash cookies LSOs...

You have to deal with problems pertaining with system settings. Disable your firewall and security software, scan system files for corruption problem. Delete recently installed Windows updates, if any. Download crash-fix and follow the instructions given below.
Remove Corrupt Cache and Temp Folder Contents:
1. Click Start, point to All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Disk CleanUp.
2. Select a disk drive, click OK.
3. Clean-up all temporary files, system and browser cache, setup extracted files, and so on.

Optimize Disk:
1. Click Start, point to All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Disk Defragmenter.
2. Select all disk drives for defragmentation.
3. Click Defragment Drives button.
4. The process may take a few hours depending upon the actual fragmentation.
