How do I stop sending e-mails to everyone about post updates and new comments?

I am on wordpress.org and I am starting to get some comments like this: "Did you make changes to the blog. Now every comment on this thread shows up as a new post under the wordpress reader feed."

And this one: " Why do you keep updating the post, every-time you do that it shows up in my email?"

Is there a way to stop sending them? Is there some setting I need to change, or maybe them?

Try set it to private, publish the posts you do not want going out to subscribers, then make it public again.
