Says I have a connection, but no internet?
Hey so my family just moved houses and we had to change ISPs and so the new people came in and set up the internet and everything. So my problem is when I hook the modem directly into the computer my computer gets internet, but when I hook my modem to the router and the router to the computer it says I have a connection but when I connect I don't get internet. My router is netgear. I feel like I've tried everything I've even tried to go into the cmd and reset the IP and stuff but I'm not sure what to do. Please help.

Your Mac address on your computer that connected directly to your modem and worked, is now linked to your service.
Unplug modem power for up to 15 minutes, ten should be enough.
This will flush the cached Mac address of your desktop, it l only communicates with the first device it lnks up with. (Until you do another long power cycle to clear it)

I would say 98% sure this is right. You will want to piower the router up omlynafter your cable modem gets a slid signal, (it will blink fast at first then go solid, now its ready, its possible usually not likely, the netgear will take longer intervals between asking for its IP address.

Only power should need removal for the 10 minutes, on the modem,
