When anyone has ever asked me to like something on Facebook I have never done it. I only put like on something that I really like. When I hear some ad guy on TV especially one in particular with an Aussie accent saying like us on Facbook I feel like telling the guy what a creep he is.

There seems to be a small change in the overall attitude to giving out likes considering it immediately appears on the News Feed, though of course there are ways this content can be hidden. This feature has been around for years, but the layout of Facebook makes everything seem more open today.

I too am selective with my likes and don't usually associate myself with something I do not understand, enjoy or agree with first, regardless of who sent the invite to like it.

Only was on Face Book for about 2 weeks.... Got really bored and tired of all the nonsense... Have no interest in what they watched on T.V. the night before or what they had for breakfast..... Also, got tired of all the "Want to be Friends" that came on, when I only talked to a few close friends and family....
I have more important things to do.... Got off the site 2 years ago....
It should be renamed.... Friendless Book or a Guide for LOSERS
