i want to stop fb from coming to my email?

I have went through the steps and it says I am not connected to FB but yet i still keep getting emails which i am being overrun by

You need to log into your FB account and change your notification settings. That has nothing to do with yahoo mail.

i suggest you use the Filter feature to send all incoming email from Facebook straight to the Trash folder or you can block Facebook completely.

To send all incoming Facebook emails to the Trash folder:

On your Yahoo Mail page, hover over the gear icon
Select Settings
Filters
Click the Add button, type Facebook into the space next to Filter name and then select Trash from the drop down menu next to "Deliver the email to the following folder"
Save

To block an address:

Go to Yahoo Mail and hover over the gear icon in the upper-right corner
Select Settings
Select Blocked Addresses
Add the email address and click Block
