What do think if this name?
I would really like opinions on the name Artemis Rose. Obviously it would be for a girl.

To be completely honest, I would guess it was a boys name if I heard it. Have you thought of modifying it slightly for a more feminine pronunciation? Artemissa, Artemisha, Artemma, Artemarie, etc Hope to have helped. Smile

I love Artemis.
It's on my name list honest to GOD!
I attached my name list in source.

I find Rose a common and boring middle name.
If it's not a family name I don't see the point in using it.

@Heather.
Artemis was the ancient Greek goddess of the hunt. Twin to Apollo, Artemis was a patron of virgins and hunters. She is therefore both butcher and protectress, though it is uncertain whether either of these words truly contribute to her name. In later legend, she was conflated with Diana, Roman goddess of the moon. She is also known as Phoebe (related to Apollo's title "Phoebus) and Cynthia (as she was born on Mount Cynthus)

I honestly don't care about the history behind the name Artemis; I know it was ancient greence.
But as in todays time, Its SO harsh! Nothing flattering about it at all
Keep Rose and find something else

Artimis and I say again, is SO harsh!
Like naming a girl, avalon.

No sorry it's not obvious that it would be for a girl. The middle name is the only indication. If I were reading roll call at school as a teacher, I would expect to look up and find a boy raising his hand after I called the name Artemis.

I like Rose, but Artemis is a strange name for either gender and if anything it is definitely masculine. Smile
