TRYING to get this JOB, Did they reject me??? I've heard nothing in 12 days!!?
Okay so this Thursday will be the 2 week mark since I've submitted my application.

This company only allows you to apply online. They posted the position 13 days ago and applied the day after it was posted. They only kept the posting displayed for 3 days. So it's been 12 days since I applied and have heard nothing.

I am quite confident that I am qualified, have a great resume and wrote a terrific cover letter. I have a personal website with my blog and my twitter feed and it's all professional and insightful to the industry that this company works within. I know this company inside and out and definitely made that clear in my cover letter! The position is in marketing and I think I've been doing a lot to market my self. I even contacted someone from the talent acquisition team who I met at a job fair before but they said "oh sorry our department is very large and I'm not sure who is going to be handling that position. If they are interested they will contact you, good luck!"

So I checked the application website again and now the same position has just been posted again! I guess it recognizes that i applied for it on the date that I did but the actual posting has today's date for when it was posted! I can't even fathom why I might have not been selected?? The position is totally entry level, and for Gods sake, the listing says Bachelor's Degree PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED?? Come on, I just earned my degree with honors!! I love this company and I want to join this team so bad, and everything about the description of the job excites me. But now I'm worried that they rejected my application!!

Does this mean they did not like me? I didn't get any kind of communication from them about this position yet! Should I re-apply for the same job under the new posting? I really really really really want this job!
Steve, this company is very large and screens their calls like no other. They don't tell me who is handling my interview and as I said already in my question, I did contact someone who is in the hiring department and she basically told me not to call and keep waiting.

Have a follow up phone call! Employers like when people are aggressive with trying to get a job.

When it comes down to it, are they going to hire the person who doesn't seem interested in the job, or the person who is pushing to getting hired?

One answer - you might be over qualified for the position. I know it's not a real excuse, but that's what the problem may be.
