Biblical folks, what is that verse about the lazy ant ? please read?
I'm having a discussion with some on FB and I suggest that people on welfare who can work, should work if possible, Are there any verses that might tell " what would Jesus do ?
either way, thanks Ads |

If you do not work you do not eat. 2 Thessalonians 3
10 For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either. Proverbs 10 4 Poor is he who works with a negligent hand, But the hand of the diligent makes rich. Proverbs 12 24 The hand of the diligent will rule, But the slack hand will be put to forced labor. 25 Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, But a good word makes it glad. 26 The righteous is a guide to his neighbor, But the way of the wicked leads them astray. 27 A lazy man does not roast his prey, But the precious possession of a man is diligence. Proverb 26 12 Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him. 13 The sluggard says, “There is a lion in the road! A lion is in the open square!†14 As the door turns on its hinges, So does the sluggard on his bed. 15 The sluggard buries his hand in the dish; He is weary of bringing it to his mouth again. 16 The sluggard is wiser in his own eyes Than seven men who can give a discreet answer. And a lot more. MIMI |

Proverbs chapter 6
6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: 7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, 8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. Or in more contemporary language: Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! 7 It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, 8 yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. 9 How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? 10 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest – 11 and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man. |

Work requirements for those who are able to work are already part of the law. Don't believe the right-wing fairy tales.

I believe you are referring to Proverbs, Chapter 6 stating with verse 6 but it is not the ant who is lazy. The ant is enterprising!!
