Can you make someone disappear on twitter?

This might sound really bizarre but I really need to like effectively delete someone from twitter so I can't read their tweets anymore. Is this possible? And how can you do it?

you can block them...go on their profile and next to the "follow" button there's a person icon and you click that and select "block @____". this way you won't see them on your timeline (unless someone retweets them onto your timeline)
