Transferring Files From Ipad?

I have an iPad and my friend has a laptop, is there a way to transfer files between the two offline. For example if we are out some together working and we have no internet connection how can he send me a file wirelessly without an internet connection and without using iTunes.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

The iPad (or any iOS device) cannot send files via Bluetooth and there is only two options to send a File. One is to use Dropbox or other services to transfer or to transfer via iTunes with Wi-Fi.The other option is to send files using the Lightning/30 pin to USB cable to transfer files. there is no ways to transfer Wirelessly.
