How do you make a conversation with someone who says lol and cool all the time?

Whenever I talk to this guy, he always uses lol and cool all the time, with like almost every response.
Also, all he ever goes on about is games and game consoles.
How do I make the conversation more stimulating and get him to open up more? He's home schooled so we don't have a lot in common.

Tell them something interesting or ask them questions and stuff like that.I deal with people like that and after my questions he begin to talk to me more and have an interesting conversation.

The best way to communicate is to ask him questions and get him more in to talking or he maybe a little shy

Start by telling him just how lucky he was to be home schooled.

Then ask questions about the advantages, or disadvantages that he sees n
ow that he has to mix so much with others with what might be regarded as normal schooling.

That should generate a lot of interchange in conversation.
