macbook pro beeping 3 times?
I keep my laptop running most of the time, and at 4 o'clock this morning it started beeping at me. 3 times, then again, and again. Talk about a rude awakening! The screen was dark and did not respond to keys or mouse clicks. I pressed the power button until it was quiet. I waited ten minutes and did some quick research on my ipod. Apparently the ram may be the culprit. Except, I just turned the macbook pro back on and everything seems to be just fine. I'm using it to write this. Random glitch, or can I expect a repeat performance? Any insight would be appreciated!

Memory sticks tend loosen out of their banks over time. This is called "Chip Creep" and is due to the constant heating and cooling over time in a computer.
If reseating the RAM was all it took for the computer to stop beeping at you, I'm fairly certain you shouldn't have that same problem again anytime soon. Technology will be finicky however and things can and will go wrong, so keep that in mind. You seem to be a fairly capable troubleshooter however and I have no doubt you'd be able to figure it out!
