why doesn't our Facebook app work on our home Wi-Fi?

Wife and I both have galaxy s3. ATT home internet, FB will not update on our home Wi-Fi. If we go out and log onto another Wi-Fi, it works perfect. Android is updated to 4.4, latest FB versions, have cleared cache, unloaded and reloaded the app. All other apps work normal on our home Wi-Fi. Fb works fine on phone if I go onto internet version, but app is completely useless. Also noticed I have same problem with FB app on my kindle hd. What gives? All other computers in house wOrk fine with the Wi-Fi as does everything on our phones , except phone and kindle Facebook apps.

I see that many people have had problems with the Facebook app over Wifi even though it works fine over mobile data.
