How do can I get rid of ads that have randomly appeared?

I've let my step-sisters use my laptop to watch movies online and ever since I let them I'm getting a lot of pop up ads and ads that appear on the side on websites like YouTube and Tumblr. I've never had this issue before and they're getting really annoying! I'm using Google Chrome and I have reset my browser to its default settings multiple times but it doesn't help. Any help would be appreciated! Also bullshit virus protection pop-ups happen and it never lets me exit from the window I always have to open the task manager to shut it down in time, how can I get rid of this? Thanks!

You could just have adware. Go to the site in this video and there are free adware removers there and also it should help if you take the guide directions the guy shows on the help vide below

Click the Chrome menu Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
Select Settings.
Click Show advanced settings.
in the "Privacy" section, click the Content settings button.
