Internet Connection Help!?
Laptop: HP Mini 110 115CA
Window 7

So I was wondering does my laptop already have Wifi on it? If so where do I find it on my laptop and how to do I connect to it?

The reason I'm asking this is because my internet connection is frustrating me to no end, it is always going on and off on me. The connection we use is linksys we have a linksys router if that helps.

The internet bar is always so low its usually at 1 bar or 2 bars and then it disconnects where I have to reconnect it and it works for a split second.

One of my siblings has an acer laptop, their bar is always full and it works everywhere in the house It is always connected where ever they go, they say they have wifi on theirs.

I want to know if mine has it so I can get this internet to always work and stop disconnecting on me?

thanks.

does my laptop already have Wifi on it? If its a fairly new, it will probably have wifi. The connection problems you are describing sound like a common issue with wifi if you are at the limits of its transmission. You may need a repeater to extend to the area your in or reposition the wifi router in a more central location in the home.

Additional problems are that Microwaves and wireless telephone handsets can work on the same frequency of the WiFi and may cause interference. Set the WiFi to use channel 1 as most other technology is set to increase the channel when looking for a clear frequency and tends to default up to channel 6.

yeh that but always make sure your wifi is switched on, either a switch under your laptop or a function key activation. Assuming that you are, sometimes connection errors can be rectified by a couple of alternative approaches. 1) hover over your network connection and select disable then go to network settings and enable that connection. 2) sounds stupid but check your antivirus software for date and time 3) check your lap top for date and time settings 4) use an ethernet cable to connect direct to your router and see of the internet connection is sound then you'll know it is your wireless. Also sometimes just doing that fixes it. Good luck
