Wireless internet for laptop at home through cell phone provider?
Please help! Need a smart patient person. I'm not good w/techno stuff.
I want wireless internet at home for my laptop. I do not want time warner. I cannot afford hughesnet ($300/install+$75/month). There are no other providers here. I have a laptop with a wireless card. I have a router. I have a cell phone. I have Direct TV. I have NO HOME telephone/landline. Best Buy said I can do this thru my cell phone provider. Can anyone tell me how this works? What do I need to buy? Ads |

Most smart phones have a Mobile Hotspot, you just have to turn it on in the settings of your phone. I would call your phone provider and asking them if you have Mobile Hotspot and how to connect to it. Just be careful with the mobile Hotspot, it can eat up a lot of data usage on your phone.

Or instead you can get something that is cheaper which you go to your provider and they actually give you this thing that takes off your phone data and it has a sim card and plugs into the usb port I know Verizon and AT&T have it and I'm pretty sure Tmobile has to too.
