Someone did a shout out on Twitter to me, what does it mean?
A minute ago someone on Twitter did a shout out or something to me? It said '#shoutout to @hotelghost @willtweets @kadorty' what does this shout out thing mean? Are they just trying to get my attention?

A shoutout is just an acknowledgement. Like the tip of the hat to you, the person shouting out to you is just saying you're a cool person.
