No internet access "media disconnected"?
I have a problem with my internet connection. My pc says i am connected to the internet, but i have "limited" access. Ipconfig tells me 'media disconnected'. Also it doesn't display a default gateway and just an autoconfiguration IPv4 address...

I tried the following things to fix the problem:

- update adapter driver
- connect using a cable (also doesn't get me an internet connection)
- try multiple troubleshooters on the web

Other pc's in my network do have internet access!
- As said. i do have an internet connection on other devices. Nor An IPv4 Address, nor the default gateway is displayed executing ipconfig. Although the pc states i have an internet connection, but it's a limited one
The error i get when 'troubleshooting errors' in win 8 is: "Wi-Fi does not have valid ip-configuration, while ip should be configured automatically

Could be an internal hardware issue, and this can be diagnosed better in a computer shop. It sounds like you have a deeper issue than something easy to fix by unplugging and replugging.

Limited Access usually means a DNS Error or IP Configuration Error rather than Physical Error.
Media Disconnected usually means no connection at all.

Open a command prompt and type ipconfig /flushdns
Then ipconfig /release
Then ipconfig /renew
then nbtstat -RR

Sounds like you should contact your internet provider...your service is down.

They are not making a connection to their router to get an IP address which is not dependent on the internet provider. I agree with Julius but also think that making a Ethernet link to see if you get an IP address might be helpful. Also you could check the router settings to see if something is not looking right. I assume you restarted the router. You could also not use DHCP to get an address and just set it up with a static address and that should work unless something else is failing.
