Is 1GB of data enough for iPhone 5c?
I'm looking to buy the iPhone 5c from Verizon and wondering if 1 gb of date is enough for me. Now I have a basic phone with a family plan, I'm 18 now and looking to upgrade. I use Instagram and Twitter a lot. Without wifi probably 1 hour total a day. I never download apps. Rarely download music. Don't upload videos or anything...

yes that will be plenty! I have 1G and I watch at least an 1hr of youtube videos everyday and I always some left over by the end of the month!
Some phone companies also include free social networking which will include twitter and instagram
but yes it will be plenty

I am a heavy user of my phone and thus average about 15gb per month. The guy above me claiming an hour of YouTube a day is full of bs.
An hour of YouTube (in my experience) is about 100mb, 30 days a month would be 3gb.
Twitter uses very little in comparison to YouTube, but it's still a fair amount.

You likely will use between 1gb and 2gb per month. Many Android phones tell you how much data you've used so that might be a reason for you to get an Android device instead.

1GB is definitely not enough, anything that requires internet will use up your data. Even if you're not using your phone, it will still be fetching data (ex. checking your mail every 15 min).
