Google Chrome is a browser. It can't be "down today", however, your local installation may be damaged. You may want to reinstall the browser.

Google Chrome is not controlled remotely... there is no such thing as Google Chrome being "down" because it is not sitting on a remote server somewhere; it runs directly from your own machine. If you are having a problem loading it, then there is a problem on your computer.

Could be the update server is down, there are some rather nasty security issues with Chrome and Safari as they are both based upon the problematic and unproven Webkit foundation.

Don't let the paid Google post shills con you, Google is a advertising company that makes it existence upon spying on everything you do and facilitating others in that regard to invade your privacy and profile everyone at every IP address, which they also tracked when they went around sniffing wifi signals and got caught red handed.

Your better off with Firefox as it's open source and more eyeballs are looking at the source code, problems always get fixed very fast. Also it's the fastest browser with the most add-ons, full customization, personas and so on.

First try clearing your browser cache by clicking on wrench=>tools=>clear browsing data=>check "empty the cache" and click "clear browsing data".

If that doesn't work, check to see if you have incompatible extensions by uninstalling them, check again and if it works, then reinstalling extensions 1 at a time to problem solve.
