Is 500MB data enough per month for iPhone 4?
Okay, so im getting an iPhone 4 on contract and it comes with 500mb per month,
im wondering if this is enough, i will use: Kik (daily) Instagram (daily) and ill use youtube/safari a few times per week. I have wifi at home by the way. Ads |

Thats not that much..I would get more if you can afford it. There is always gonna be new things with the iphone that your gonna wanna have.

Yes, it should be fine. YouTube is the only thing you should really be concerned about, as it chews through data rather excessively.

To put it in perspective, the average mobile phone game these days is around 5mb. Browsing the web takes insignificant amounts of data, but streaming youtube videos might raise the data count. Off the top of my head, an hour long, high quality video clip is 250-ish MB, youtube videos tend to be of lower quality. Say 75-100mb pr. _hour_ of video streamed. Not sure what Kik and Instagram are, but unless they require you to show loads of uncompressed, high-quality photos or videos, you should be just fine with 500mb.
The wifi at home also helps keeping the data count down! |
