please need advise on can you be arrested for putting a advert and didnt know its illegal ? Babysitting in your own hous
hi my Name is Quelette. i did babysitting when i lived in RSA and it was legal to do so in your own home as long as you had no more than 3 kids. i live in the UK now i got a little boy of 4 and also pregnant. i was thinking of starting babysitting again soon in my house so i posted a advert on FB so childmiders saw it and asked if i was ofsted registered i then thought oops mabe better i do research first. so i deleted the add emediatly didnt answer as i dint know if its wrong if its only babysitting? so i googled it and realise that in the UK it is illegal i did remove the add and would absolutely not do anything illegal so this girl has taken a picture of my advert posted it online. warning poeple not to use me witch is fine but she is talking bout me being arrested and suing me? can i get sued and get arrested for putting a add? im not doing any babysitting just thought of it as i really adore working with kids? pleas answer me im in so much distress i appologised to this girl and online but the harrasment and my add on this pic is stil on fb its stil not removed after i appologised. i cant sleep as being upset dreaming i get arrested and poeple stearing at me in town. pleas help? Kind Regards xxx

If you haven't done anything you can't be arrested. I wouldn't worry about it. If anyone comes around asking. Just say you weren't looking to run daycare.

It is legal if you look after them in THEIR house. To look after them in your house you need to be a registered childminder and registered with the local council. So technically you can still do it if it is the childs house you go to.

KEEP YOUR BUSINESS AT HOME. The giving of care in most places is a licensed profession, you can not advertise without proper credentials. I think if you feel confident and the parents of your possible charges show confidence in you. All should go well, This would be be thought of as under the table wages and there could be another bag of worms to deal with. the IRS. Just my opinion.
