Question about FB birthday settings?

My birthday ("bday") is private on FB but want my friends to know so I guess I'll have to make it public for the day from other answers I been seeing here/or thru researching. Is that correct??

If I only set the month and date public to friends only (ex-May 30) but don't put up the year I was born, will my friends on FB still get notifications that it is my bday or does the whole date (month, day, and year) have to be set for them to view??


Also, is there anyway to keep my bday setting on private still but only have friends be able to know on FB or as I was researching then I'd have to make that private too??


Lastly, if I make it public to friends now for the day and lets say I do get posts/comments on it on my page for my bday, but decide to make it private again afterwards, then will I loose all those comments/posts that were there for my bday??


Hope these questions make sense and someone could help me. If any clarifying is needed, please let me know. I'm very concerned about my privacy on FB and didn't wanna put my bday then again I'd like only friends to know the date just not the year so want to make sure how I can limit the amount of info out there. My bday is set to month and day no year and the month and day can only be seen by friends. Fb doesnt share your age to anyone if u restrict it
