Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 incompatible with origin and battlelog?

When Kaspersky is running and protection is enabled I cannot sign in to origin online (it lets me log in but in offline mode) and battlelog does not retrieve server results or sync cloud data either, which likely falls under the same problem. As soon as I disable protection, everything works fine and I can play battlefield 4 with no problems whatsoever. So it is clearly KIS that is the problem and nothing else, I have ruled out it being a firewall issue as I have checked in KIS's settings and nothing relating to origin or EA or battlefield is blacklisted or blocked. I'm not sure what else it could be and would like some help in resolving the issue.
