When I install Google Chrome on my laptop, I get a virus?
I got a virus on my laptop, form downloading something on Google Chrome, so before I fixed the virus I uninstalled Chrome (I thought Chrome might be the cause of the virus) and got it fixed and removed by some computer technicians. Everything was fine until I tried to re-install Google Chrome, then the virus came back. I took it back and they said that they would scan it again, it took a few days and they told me the virus had completely gone. So I installed Chrome again and surprise surprise I have the virus again!
I was just wondering if anyone knows whats going on here! I can easily take it back to the IT technicians to remove the virus, but I need to know if I can download Chrome, or what is wrong with my laptop! Thanks Hmm yeah, haha it's probably karma from Google for uninstalling Google Chrome in the first place... Google, your punishments really hurt... But I need Chrome for work and stuff because it's so much quicker :/ I can't use my anti-virus software because well, for a start I'm not sure what it's called haha and I know fuck all about computers so I would probably mess it up..best to let the profesionals do their stuff! But yeah that's a good idea, I will ask them to download it for me Ads |

I would guess you are being redirected from the real Google Chrome download site somehow. I'm using Chrome right now and haven't had any problems yet.

Chrome does not contain a virus if you download it from http://www.google.com/chrome/intl/en/lan...html?hl=en
You could always ask the technicians to install chrome for you when the virus has been removed. How do you know you have a virus? Why can't you remove the virus yourself with your anti virus program? |

If you are installing Chrome from a file you saved on your laptop, that would explain the virus coming back each time, but if you are downloading it and get the virus every time, change where you are downloading it from, sounds like a redirect.
