Hey Brian,

What you are doing is consider as SEO and SEO is an on going process. I would suggest you optimize your blog with on-page SEO such as keyword research, optimizing URL, Title Tag, h1 Header, Anchor text and etc. Read this article to learn more about on-page SEO http://www.mktdojo.com/how-to-optimize-website

You can build backlinks with many ways. Most people try to create amazing content so that people would share it thus create backlinks. However, there are other ways to do so. Check out these two articles for some basic and advacned way to build links.

Hello!

the best way to build backlinks is still to contact other website owners directly.
For example you could contact some shopping directorys or sites with similar content.
Maybe also some blogs would be fine for your online shop.
Important is that you build the links slowly and that you not only list your site on free website directories.

When it come to advertising, (as you like to boost your traffic) i would recommend you
the microsoft adcenter http://www.trafficboss.biz which offers a low cpc bid price.

Good luck!
