Allow Indexing of Tags - Google SEO Perspective?

Hi,
I have seen sites that allow their tags to be indexed but does this give an extra seo boost in the long run? If not then what are the adverse effects?

Personally, I think it might be beneficial if we can restrict the amount of tags. What are your views on this.. Hoping to get some interesting seo insight

Great question...

Google's algorithms have changed. Tags / Content used to be king but not any more!!!

Of course a lot of the usual suspects are important. Title tag, H1 etc...

However bounce rates are now more important and the most important thing this year is good quality, high authority links.
