How do you measure if your internet marketing plan is successful?
We are opening a hot dog shop in Dallas and we are planing to give out hot dog to people who like our facebook page and follow us on twitter.

We don't want to just give out hot dog for free, how can we get more out of this campaign?

That's easy! That's one of the oldest marketing secrets of all time. But first you must have a variety of hot dogs visible to the public at your stand, restaurant, kiosk or whatever. Display your very cheap dogs and cheap buns on end of your display... grill whatever. On the other side put you immaculate delicious dogs, sausages and garnish and sell up. The more traffic you bring and the more appetizing you make your profitable dogs look, the more money you're gonna make. Hands down!

You cannot always measure exactly the effectiveness of a campaign especially when you are just starting up. The reason is you have yet to determine the lifetime value of a customer for your business. Let's say someone responds to your promotion. they come in and get their free hotdog. We don't know yet if they will comeback once a week for a year or if they never come back again. We don't know if they tell their friends about your hot dogs and their friends start coming. we don't know if they tell their friends not to come. Until you can determine how much an individual customer is worth to you, it will be impossible to tell if the promotion was a success or not.

Should you do it anyway. I think absolutely. Even if you give them a free hotdog, they will probably buy a drink at least and maybe more.

Instead of just giving out hotdog, there are better campaign you can run.

one of the hottest campaign is like contest. You ask your customer to upload something (picture, review, fan art etc) on facebook or instagram, whoever's upload get the most like win the prize. In that way, a lot more people will see your product and know about your brand

also when you get a like or follow, you are getting a subscription. We are a Internet Marketing firm in Dallas
